Jain Literature of Haryana

  • The tradition of writing Jain Literature in Haryana is quite old.
  • According to some historians, Pushpadanta was the Aadi Jain poet of Haryana.
  • According to Acharya Chatursen, Aadi Jain poet Pushpadanta was native of Rohtak. Pushpadanta used to add adjectives with his name like Abhimanmeru, Kavyaratnakar, and Kavikultilak.
  • Famous composition of Pushpadanta the most sacred Jain text  'Satkhandagama'.
  • This scripture has six parts. These are as follows:

    (i) Jiva Sthana

    (ii) Kshudraka Bandha

    (iii) Bandhasvamitva

    (iv) Vedana

    (v) Vargana
